The holidays are upon us yet again, and you know what that means! It is a time to give and receive presents, spend time with your family, get crazy with the lights and take a well-deserved break from work. And while you may want your two front teeth for Christmas, as your family dentist, we’ve got a few things on our wish list, too! It involves you, so if you’re feeling extra giving this season we won’t keep you guessing.
Here are four things every dentist wants from his or her patients this Christmas:
1. Healthy patients. Obviously, we want you to be healthy! Not only does this mean brushing your teeth twice a day (every day) and flossing daily but also maintaining a healthy diet. I know this can be difficult during the holiday season with all the delicious (and indulgent) homemade food—not to mention your pickled holiday parties. We get it! But we also want you to feel and look great while visiting family and friends you rarely see. By taking care of your teeth and maintaining a healthy diet we can prevent tooth decay and make your new year appointments quick and painless.
2. Four–six month, regular visits. Our goal is always to prevent problems from finding their way to your teeth. How can we do that if we don’t see you regularly? Checking in with our lovable patients every four to six months gives us time to check for cavities, perform x-rays and give you a thorough cleaning. Plus—let’s be honest—we miss you! Our patients are like family, so it’s nice to know how everything is going with you!
3. Referrals from GREAT patients. We are clearly thankful for you and your time, but sometimes we don’t always know how thankful you are for us. With websites such as Yelp and various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+, you are able to tell everyone about your experience with your dentist. If you had a great, 5-star experience with oral health provider, don’t hesitate to tell the world about it so that others can share in the experience. Your dentist will appreciate the business, and your friends will appreciate the good recommendation.
4. Patients who smile! Our job is to make you want to show off those pearly whites as much as you can—free of pain. Our holidays are complete when our patients are showing off our work. So smile already! It’s our favorite time of the year, and your big grin is the best way to spread Christmas cheer to those around you.
From me and all of my wonderful staff, we wish you a very happy holidays!
